Woman Crush Wednesday: AJ Lee

           She is April Jeanette Brooks, or also known as AJ Lee. She is an American professional wrestler signed to WWE under the ring name AJ Lee. She is a former three-time WWE Divas Champion and holds the longest reign in the title’s history at 295 days.

           AJ began her career performing on the New Jersey independent circuit as Miss April, mostly in Women Superstars Uncensored. After joining WWE in 2009, she spent two years in its developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, and took part in the third season of NXT in 2010, placing third in the competition. In 2012, after being involved in several on-screen relationships with wrestlers feuding over the promotion’s world championships, while also serving as Raw General Manager for three months, AJ was named WWE‘s “Diva of the Year“. In June 2013, AJ captured her first WWE Divas Championship by defeating Kaitlyn.

            April Jeanette Mendez was born March 19, 1987, in Union City, New Jersey. She is of Puerto Rican heritage, and the youngest of three siblings. She describes her family’s experience while growing up as having to live in motels, other people’s houses, and their car. She cited her brother’s childhood interest in WWE as an influence on her decision to break into the male-dominated world of wrestling, and she cemented her ambition to pursue a professional wrestling career when she was 12 years old. She was inspired by the female WWE stars that came before her, especially Lita, whom she met as a child at an autograph signing. A video of the encounter, which shows the young Mendez being brought to tears by the meeting, has surfaced on YouTube.

            After graduating from Memorial High School, Mendez worked several jobs in order to save up the money she needed to both support her family and enroll in wrestling school. She attended New York University‘s Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, where she majored in film and television production and writing, until family and financial issues led to her dropping out six months into her studies. As an homage to her brother, who was in the U.S. Army, Mendez once wore camouflage wrestling attire.

            Mendez married Phil Brooks, better known as CM Punk, on June 13, 2014. They live in Chicago, Illinois. She was previously in a relationship with her trainer Jay Lethal. Mendez describes herself as a “tomboy” and credits her brother for getting her interested in comic books, anime and video games. She has a tattoo in tally marks on the back of her neck, which read as “6-16-13”, commemorating the date on which she won her first WWE Divas Championship.

          She is Angelina Jolie Voight, also known as Angelina Jolie. She is  an American actress and filmmaker. She has received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards, and was named Hollywood’s highest-paid actress by Forbes in 2009, 2011, and 2013. Jolie promotes humanitarian causes, and is noted for her work with refugees as a Special Envoy and former Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She has been cited as the world’s “most beautiful” woman by various media outlets, a title for which she has received substantial public

            Jolie made her screen debut as a child alongside her father, Jon Voight, in Lookin’ to Get Out (1982).             What I love about Angelina Jolie is that she has the sexiest lips ever. I would spend money to get those lips and she is extremely beautiful inside and out.            She is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, better known by her stage name Iggy Azalea. She is an Australian rapper from Mullumbimby, New South Wales. She left for the United States at the age of 16 to pursue a career in hip hop music, first residing in Miami, Florida, and then other parts of the southern United States, including Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. She first gained recognition after the respective music videos for her controversial songs “Pu$$y” and “Two Times” went viral on YouTube. In September 2011, she released her debut mixtape Ignorant Art and subsequently aligned herself with Atlanta-based rapper T.I. In March 2012, T.I. announced Azalea‘s signing to his record label imprint Grand Hustle. In July 2012, she released an EP executive-produced by T.I., titled Glory. Later, she went into professional modeling, became represented by Wilhelmina Models and was announced as the “New Face of Levi Jeans“. Also in 2012, Azalea became both the first female and the first non-American rapper to be featured on XXL‘s annual Top 10 Freshmen cover issue.

           After label conflicts, her debut studio album The New Classic was finally released on 21 April 2014, under Virgin EMI and Def Jam Recordings. The album debuted among the top five of several charts worldwide and received generally mixed reviews.            Although Azalea is Australian, she raps with a Southern American accent. When she first moved to America, she was involved in the Southern hip hop scene of Miami and later Atlanta, which made it easy for her to cultivate the Southern influence in her music: “I lived in the South for five years; you pick up things from your surroundings and teachers. The people who taught me to rap are all from the South and so was the music I had listened to as a teen.” While Azalea‘s debut extended play Glory was intended to focus on hardcore-rap, the EP also touched up on other genres including electronic dance music.

           Although Azalea began rapping at the age of 14, she was infatuated with hip hop from age 11 when she heard Tupac Shakur‘s “Baby Don’t Cry (Keep Ya Head Up II)“: “It was the song that made me fall in love with music and also what sparked my Tupac fascination. That would later make me pick up my own pen and write songs”. In her early interviews, Azalea regularly mentioned Shakur‘s influence: “I was sickly obsessed.             She is Amanda Laura Bynes, already known as Amanda Bynes. She is an American actress and fashion designer. She rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s on the Nickelodeon series All That and The Amanda Show. From 2002 to 2006, she starred in the sitcom What I Like About You on The WB. She has also starred in several films, including What a Girl Wants (2003), She’s the Man (2006), Hairspray (2007), Sydney White (2007), and Easy A (2010).

            In 2007, Bynes described herself as Jewish, and also stated: “As far as religion, I was raised both. I learned about both Judaism and Catholicism. My parents said it was up to me to decide [which faith to adhere to] when I grew up. I’m sort of a spiritual person anyway. I haven’t decided yet on a religion. I don’t know yet exactly what I believe.”

             Bynes is interested in illustration and fashion design. Bynes has previously had her own fashion line sold nationwide and moved from Los Angeles to New York in order to facilitate her fashion career.

            In March 2012, Bynes was stopped and ticketed by police for talking on a cell phone while driving. A month later, she was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after side-swiping a police car in West Hollywood. On September 4, 2012, Bynes was charged for two alleged hit and run incidents, one occurring in April and the other in August. The hit and run charges were dismissed in December 2012 following a financial settlement between Bynes and the victims. On February 24, 2014, the DUI charge was dropped and Bynes was sentenced to three years of probation for reckless driving as part of a plea deal.

             Bynes‘ driver’s license was suspended some time before September 6, 2012, by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. On September 16, Bynes was cited for driving with a suspended license, and her car was impounded. In May 2013, Bynes pleaded no contest to the charge, and was sentenced to three years probation. Her license was restored in April 2014.

            On May 23, 2013, Bynes was arrested at her home in Manhattan for criminal possession of marijuana, attempted tampering with evidence, and reckless endangerment. According to a prosecutor at Bynes‘ arraignment, police observed Bynes throwing a bong from the window of her 36th floor apartment. Bynes claimed that the alleged bong was actually a vase. Following her arrest, Bynes underwent a psychiatric evaluation at a hospital before she was processed at the police station. On May 25, Bynes said on Twitter that she had been sexually harassed by the arresting officer: “[He] slapped my vagina. Sexual harassment. Big deal.” The police department has denied the accusation. The case against Bynes was dismissed in June 2014.

            On July 22, 2013, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies detained Bynes in front of a stranger’s house in Thousand Oaks, California, where she had allegedly started a small fire in the driveway, and had her hospitalized under a 72-hour 5150 mental health evaluation hold. Bynes‘ parents filed for conservatorship of their daughter shortly after her hospitalization began. On August 9, Bynes‘ mother was granted a temporary conservatorship over Bynes‘ affairs, including her medical care, as well as control over her finances, after the judge agreed that Bynes had a “lack of capacity to give informed consent to medical care.” On September 24, Bynes‘ lawyer asked for a “1368 Penal Code” hearing to determine Bynes‘ mental competency. Six days later, Bynes‘ parents said that upon doctors’ recommendation, Bynes was transferred from UCLA Medical Center to receive “specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles.”

            In December 2013, Bynes was released from treatment to her parents. She also agreed to seek counseling for the New York marijuana incident. Bynes was arrested on September 28, 2014 for her second DUI.

           On October 10, 2014, Bynes was hospitalized in Pasadena, California and placed on a temporary psyche hold following Bynes‘ new accusations, via Twitter, that her father sexually abused her repeatedly as a child. Shortly after these new allegations were made, Bynes tweeted “My dad never did any of those things. The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he’s the one that ordered them to microchip me”. Bynes‘ mother issued a statement to E! News through her attorney, Tamar Arminak, denying the claims. On October 13, 2014, the 72-hour psychiatric hold was extended to 14 days, and later extended again 30 more days. On October 22, Bynes‘ mother received conservatorship of her daughter once again.

           She is Cameron Michelle Diaz, also known as Cameron Diaz. She is an American actress and former model. She rose to stardom with roles in The Mask, My Best Friend’s Wedding and There’s Something About Mary. Other high-profile credits include the two Charlie’s Angels films, voicing the character Princess Fiona in the Shrek series, Any Given Sunday, Knight and Day, The Holiday, The Green Hornet, Bad Teacher and Sex Tape.

          Diaz has received four Golden Globe Award nominations for her performances in the movies, Being John Malkovich, Vanilla Sky,Gangs of New York, and There’s Something About Mary for which she also won the New York Film Critics Best Lead Actress Award. She is also a BAFTA Nominee. In 2013, Diaz was named the highest paid actress over 40 in Hollywood.

           Cameron Diaz is passionate about the environment and is well known for her green activism. Vogue magazine has even brought attention to her commitment to sustainability. Diaz is an early adopter of the Prius in efforts to take part in reducing carbon emissions. Diaz has also worked with Al Gore on helping to promote his ‘Live Earth‘ campaign, raising awareness of climate change.           She is Miranda May Kerr, also known as Miranda Kerr. She  is an Australian model. Kerr rose to prominence in 2007 as one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels. She is the first Australian to participate in the Victoria’s Secret campaign and also represented the Australian up-market department store chain David Jones. In addition, Kerr has launched her own brand of organic skincare products, KORA Organics, and released a self-help book, Treasure Yourself.

           Kerr began modelling in the fashion industry when she was 13, starting at zj, and subsequently won a 1997 Australian nationwide model search hosted by Dolly magazine and Impulse fragrances. She married English actor Orlando Bloom in 2010; they have since separated.

             In 2003, Kerr began dating finance broker Adrian Camilleri. Following an Australian Securities and Investments Commission investigation, Camilleri was found guilty on five counts of fraudulent behaviour from February 2003 to February 2004. Kerr subsequently ended the relationship. A 2007 newspaper report claims that Kerr suffered financially “after taking her boyfriend’s financial advice” but chose not to take legal action.

            She formerly dated Jay Lyon (Brent Tuhtan), the lead singer of the band Tamarama, who has made appearances on season one of the MTV series The City. In this case, the ringleader allegedly wanted Kerr‘s Victoria’s Secret lingerie. Kerr and Bloom announced their engagement in June 2010, and they were married the following month. Kerr gave birth to their son, Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, in January 2011. The middle name Christopher comes from Kerr‘s ex-boyfriend, Christopher Middlebrook who died in a car accident in 1998 when they were 15. In October 2013, Kerr and Bloom announced that they had separated several months earlier, and intend to end their marriage.

             In response to claims that Kerr is a practicing Buddhist, she told The Telegraph, “I’m not Buddhist. I’m Christian. I pray every day. I meditate every day and I do yoga. I’m not religious, I’m spiritual. And praying is something my grandmother taught me as well. To pray and be grateful, have gratitude, is a big thing for me.”

              She credits meditation, speaking with friends, and writing as ways of dealing with challenges such as Middlebrook‘s death, and “makes it a priority to pray about forgiving herself and others.”

                 Kerr maintains her physique through daily yoga, light jogging, and a diet of steamed vegetables, fresh fruit, and fish. Kerr told readers of Australian Cosmopolitan that coconut oil was the key to her clear skin, shiny hair and trim figure, saying she ingests four tablespoons a day, either on salads, in her cooking or in her cups of green tea.

            She Jamie Jilynn Chung is an American actress and former reality television personality. She first gained fame in 2004 as a cast member on the MTV reality series, The Real World: San Diego and subsequently through her appearances on its spin-off show, Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno II. She is regarded by many as the Real World alumna with the most successful media career.

          She later transitioned into acting and has since become known for films, such as Grown Ups, Premium Rush, Sorority Row, The Hangover Part II, Princess Protection Program, and Sucker Punch and having been the series lead of the ABC Family television miniseries Samurai Girl. Chung received critical acclaim for her performance as the lead of the independent drama film about domestic human trafficking, Eden. Since 2012, Chung has appeared in the recurring role of Mulan in the ABC fantasy television series Once Upon a Time. She was part of the main cast of the NBC drama series Believe.

         Chung won the Female Stars of Tomorrow Award at the 2009 ShoWest industry trade show along with her Sorority Row castmates. And she began dating actor Bryan Greenberg in early 2012. They became engaged in December 2013.

           She is Maryse Ouellet Mizanin is a French Canadian glamour model, professional wrestler, professional wrestling valet, and business woman, better known simply as Maryse. She is best known for her time with WWE between 2006 and 2011.

          After spending years modelling, including winning Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada in 2003, Maryse was hired by WWE in August 2006, after she participated in the WWE Diva Search competition. She spent time in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE‘s developmental territories, before being assigned to the SmackDown brand in 2008. In December 2008, Maryse captured her first title with the company, the WWE Divas Championship, and held it for seven months, the longest reign in the championship’s history at the time. In April 2009 she was drafted to the Raw brand, and won the Divas Championship for the second time in February 2010, making her the first wrestler to have held the championship on more than one occasion. In March 2011, she became the co-host of NXT, but was released from WWE in October 2011.

           In late 2011, she announced plans for a clothing and jewelry line called House of Maryse, and later began working as a realtor.

           She is Ariana Grande- Butera, also known as Ariana Grande. She is an American singer and actress. She began her career singing on a cruise ship, at sporting events and with various orchestras in South Florida. She appeared in the Broadway musical 13, before landing the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious in 2009. After the show ended, Grande rose to prominence as a teen idol on her own spinoff, Sam & Cat, along with iCarly actress Jennette McCurdy.

          As she kept herself busy with television, Grande began to pursue a musical career appearing on the soundtrack, Music from Victorious (2011), and subsequently signed a recording contract with Republic Records. She launched a music career after the release of her debut studio album, Yours Truly (2013), which debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album’s lead single, “The Way“, became a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with critics comparing her wide vocal range to Mariah Carey.

         Grande developed a maturing image while promoting her second studio album, My Everything (2014), which became her second consecutive number-one album in the United States. The album produced the successful tracks “Problem” and “Break Free“. Some of her achievements include New Artist Of The Year at the 2013 American Music Awards, Favorite Breakout Artist at the 40th People’s Choice Awards and Breakthrough Artist of the Year by the Music Business Association.

I needed something else to believe in.” She has since started following Kabbalah‘s teachings, believing “the basis lies in the idea that if you’re kind to others, good things will happen to you.”

          On July 5, 2014, Grande halted her plans when she heard that her grandfather was dying and went to be by his side. Her grandfather died twenty days later, and she received supportive messages on her Twitter page from her manager Scooter Braun, Jennette McCurdy, and other fans.

          She is Kimberly Kaye Wyatt, also known as Kimberly Wyatt. She is  is an American singer, dancer, choreographer and television personality. She is best known as a former member of the American pop/ R&B girl group and dance ensemble The Pussycat Dolls. She joined the Pussycat Dolls in 2003 and left the group in 2010.

          I started to like Kimberly Wyatt since 2010, when she was still a Pussycat Dolls. I was amazed by how she lifted her leg. I mean, I was shocked, it was duper straight. She was energetic when she dance, like she was not getting tired all the time. Maybe that was the true meaning of being a dancer.

          What I more like about her is her face especially the eyes. She was like a cat’s face, maybe that’s why she was a Pussycat Doll before. She is so perfect, the sexiest, the flexiest, and the pretties girl in the world. I love blondes!

         Kimberly got engaged to the model Max Rogers in September 2013 after dating for two and a half years, and married on February 22, 2014. On 18 August 2014, Wyatt announced she was pregnant with her first baby.
